A taxi driver miraculously survived a horrific ordeal after being shot seven times and losing six pints of blood when the bullets got stuck in her fat. Brandy Littrell, aged 40, had a routine morning before her life was endangered by a customer who kidnapped and shot her. Back in 2021, at the age of 36, Brandy had been driving for Lyft as a taxi driver in Mississippi for five years.
In November of that year, Brandy accepted a ride request from Dontarius Magee, now 20 years old. She picked him up at his apartment and was instructed to drive to a local McDonald’s where he was employed. However, the situation took a terrifying turn when Magee brandished a handgun and threatened Brandy.
Magee demanded her car keys, Apple Watch, and ordered her to move to the back seat. Brandy, in fear for her life, complied with his demands. She recounted the harrowing experience, recalling how Magee interrogated her about her belongings at home, where she lived with her elderly grandmother, Dorothy, who was 76 at the time. Eventually, he forced her to walk into nearby woods.
Deep in the woods, Magee pointed the gun at Brandy and instructed her to kneel. Despite her fear, she followed his command, only to be shot multiple times by him. Thinking she was dead, Magee fled the scene, leaving Brandy wounded on the ground. Fortunately, Brandy managed to reach a nearby apartment building for help.
Emergency services intervened, and Brandy was rushed to the hospital where it was discovered that the bullets had avoided vital organs due to her excess weight. The police quickly located Brandy’s car, which Magee had used to continue his normal routine after the incident. Though discharged from the hospital a week later, Brandy was left traumatized by the experience.
After a four-year delay, Brandy finally faced Magee in court in April 2025. During her victim impact statement, she described the lasting physical effects she endured, including limited shoulder movement and visible scars from the gunshot wounds. Magee pleaded guilty to several charges, including attempted murder, armed robbery, carjacking, and kidnapping, and received a 30-year prison sentence.
Reflecting on the ordeal, Brandy expressed her disappointment at Magee’s lack of remorse or apology, labeling him as cold and evil.
