A groundbreaking youth charity has ventured into the territory of Tommy Robinson and Andrew Tate to educate young individuals on preventing violence and abuse against women.

The Hope Collective conducted a special visit to Luton, the hometown of these two infamous figures. Teaming up with the Rio Ferdinand foundation, they interacted with over 100 teenagers to help them recognize the harmful messages propagated by Robinson and Tate.

One of the participating youngsters emphasized the need to shift the dialogue. Gary Trowsdale, the founder and program director of the Hope Collective, highlighted the significance of addressing the issue of violence against women and girls, which has long been a neglected topic.

Trowsdale pointed out the detrimental impact of social media on shaping young minds, particularly through individuals like Andrew Tate. He mentioned reports from female school teachers who observed negative behaviors among boys towards girls in classrooms, reflecting the broader societal problem of violence against women and girls.

Moreover, he raised concerns about the influence of Tommy Robinson, known for his anti-Muslim stance, and how it affects the young Muslim community in Luton. Stannett, the CEO of the Rio Ferdinand Foundation, stressed the importance of empowering youth to become leaders and make positive changes within their communities.

The Hope Collective, established in memory of Damilola Taylor, organizes collaborative events like Hope Hacks to engage young people in addressing challenging issues. These events have been conducted nationwide since 2021, providing a platform for youth-led discussions and workshops facilitated by experienced professionals.

Both Tate and Robinson are controversial figures known for their right-wing ideologies and involvement in protest activities. The Hope Collective aims to counter negative influences and promote a more inclusive and tolerant society, utilizing innovative approaches to empower young individuals and foster positive change.
