A tragic incident occurred in Birmingham on Friday night, resulting in the death of a 34-year-old woman who was stabbed on Smallbrook Queensway. The victim, who suffered a serious neck injury, was taken to the hospital but unfortunately passed away. Djeison Rafael, 21, has been charged in connection with the stabbing and is scheduled to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court. The charges are expected to be amended following the victim’s death.

Authorities have described the attack as unprovoked and are actively investigating the circumstances. Specialized investigators are assisting the victim’s family, and additional police presence has been deployed in Birmingham’s city center for public reassurance.

Birmingham Police are seeking information from the public regarding the incident and the movements of Rafael, who was reportedly wearing an all-grey tracksuit, black hat, trainers, and a rucksack on the evening of the incident. Anyone with relevant details is urged to contact the police via phone or submit evidence through the Major Incident Public Portal.
