Amazon has introduced a new streaming device to its lineup, offering features that surpass current models. The Fire TV Stick HD is the latest entry-level product from the tech giant, set to be priced at £39.99 upon its release later this month. Despite its lower price point, it boasts improvements such as a slimmer and more stylish design compared to its predecessor.

The new Fire TV Stick HD is now 30% narrower, making it easier to fit behind TVs and more portable for users on the go. One notable enhancement is that it draws power from the TV’s USB port, eliminating the need for a separate power adapter.

According to Amazon, “The new Fire TV Stick HD is our slimmest streaming device yet, smaller in volume and width than previous models, and optimized for Direct Power through the TV’s USB port, allowing for a neater installation behind a TV.”

Similar to other Fire TV Sticks, it provides instant access to popular streaming services like Disney+, Apple TV, Prime Video, iPlayer, ITVX, and Netflix. Additionally, it includes a convenient remote with Alexa voice search and quick-launch buttons for applications.

Although it does not support 4K resolution, the Fire TV Stick HD offers full HD viewing, which should suffice for most households.

Amazon touts that the new Fire TV Stick HD delivers noticeable speed enhancements compared to previous HD models, being more than 30% faster on average. This results in quicker startup times and faster app loading.

Moreover, the device comes with the latest Fire operating system, offering a cleaner interface, improved recommendations, and a more streamlined content discovery process.

The Fire TV Stick HD is scheduled to be available in stores on April 29th at a price of £39.99.
