According to recommendations, Bulgaria has been identified as the ideal destination for an affordable summer vacation this year, particularly for families.

During the peak booking season in January, TravelSupermarket’s data highlighted the most cost-effective countries for individuals planning a sun-filled all-inclusive holiday in 2026. Bulgaria secured the first position, offering an average cost of £760 per person for a week-long stay. Following closely were Morocco at £852 per person for seven nights, and Malta at £862.

Comparing the average prices across 13 sought-after locations, the cost of a week-long stay in Bulgaria has decreased by £54 per person, representing a 7% drop from the previous summer. Conversely, Cyprus emerged as the most expensive destination among the selections, with an average cost of £1,186 per person.

Spain, a perennial favorite among British travelers, including the Balearic and Canary Islands, was ranked fourth on this year’s list with an average cost of £888 per person, maintaining similar prices to 2025. Turkey claimed the 11th spot, with an average cost of £1,057, while Greece followed in 12th place at £1,096.

Croatia was identified as the 10th most affordable summer destination, with an average cost of £1,046 per person. Notably, the typical vacation expenditure in the country has decreased by 12% since the previous year, making it £136 cheaper this summer.

For long-haul travelers, TravelSupermarket highlighted the destinations offering the best value for families. Among these, Cape Verde emerged as the most economical at £1,247 per person, followed by the United Arab Emirates at £1,297, the Dominican Republic at £1,664, and Mexico at £1,694.

Chris Webber, head of holidays and deals at TravelSupermarket, commented on the findings, stating, “Bulgaria seems poised to regain its status as the go-to affordable all-inclusive vacation spot.

“Despite price increases, Tunisia and Morocco continue to rank among the top five cheapest countries, ensuring families can still enjoy great value there. Croatia had started to gain a reputation as an expensive destination, particularly after adopting the Euro in January 202
