Luke Littler has declared his intention to skip the upcoming BBC Sports Personality of the Year awards despite being a nominee for the prestigious accolade. He has expressed his belief that Lando Norris is likely to clinch the top honor. At 18 years old, Littler, known as ‘The Nuke,’ is among the six contenders for the award, competing against the likes of Rory McIlroy, Chloe Kelly, Hannah Hampton, and Ellie Kildunne. Although he was also nominated last year but lost to Keely Hodgkinson.

Despite his outstanding year, Littler has chosen to focus on his upcoming match with either Mario Vandenbogaerde or David Davies, which is scheduled just two days after the awards ceremony on December 18. When asked about the event, Littler stated that he will not be attending and predicted that Norris will emerge victorious, hinting at his chances given his performance this year.

Reflecting on his plans for the immediate future, Littler intends to relax at home, with the exception of watching Manchester United play against Bournemouth on Monday night. As a devoted fan of the Red Devils, he recently attended the team’s match against Wolves at Molineux, sparking attention on social media.

Responding to queries about how he acquired tickets for the game, Littler clarified that Adidas provided him with the tickets. He mentioned that Adidas, as kit manufacturers, distribute tickets annually, and on this occasion, he was granted three tickets for the Wolves away match.

Following his comfortable victory over Darius Labanauskas at Ally Pally, Littler discussed his performance and nerves during the match. He emphasized the importance of winning the first set in settling his nerves and expressed satisfaction with his overall performance.
