Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport’s Terminal 4 was evacuated following a bomb threat made by an individual, leading to disruptions in both arrivals and departures. Law enforcement authorities apprehended the suspect and cleared the terminal during the late morning hours on Tuesday. The airport issued a travel advisory stating that a security-related investigation was ongoing, affecting access to certain areas in Terminal 4. Passengers were directed to unaffected sections of the airport while cooperation was requested during the investigation. The Broward Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the Bomb Squad Unit had taken control of the suspicious bag. Currently, security wait times at the airport range from 15 to 25 minutes as the situation unfolds.
