British boxing legend Ricky Hatton has tragically passed away at the age of 46 in his home. Hatton, a beloved figure in British sports, made history in 2005 when he defeated Kosta Tszyu to become a world champion. He was involved in notable fights against Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao before retiring following a defeat by Pacquiao and later making a comeback in 2022.

Greater Manchester Police confirmed the discovery of Hatton’s body at his residence, stating that the death is not considered suspicious. Hatton, who grew up in Hyde, Manchester, initially turned to boxing to confront school bullies after having football trials. He achieved various titles throughout his career, including the WBU light-welterweight title and unified championships.

Despite setbacks in his personal life and struggles with mental health and addiction, Hatton continued to inspire fans with his fighting spirit. The boxing community mourned his loss, with tributes pouring in from fellow boxers like Amir Khan, Chris Eubank Sr, and promoter Turki Al-Sheikh, honoring Hatton’s legacy in British boxing.
